HELLO BURGESS COUSINS:
We have reserved the perfect place for our Burgess Reunion. The Benson Gristmill. This is a Pioneer Village with blacksmith shop, wood shop, other cabins and the Gristmill. There is a covered eating area with tables and other facilities. Guides can take us on tours and tell about the Pioneers life. It is located about 20 minutes from Salt Lake City. If you want to come in Friday night, there are places available just outside the park on the parking strip where RVs can be parked. We only have the park till 6:00 pm on Saturday. Some possible hotels, addresses and phone numbers are listed on the next page.
Lunch will be about 1:00 p.m. We can furnish the main dish and each family brings a salad, veggies, fruit plate or dessert to share. Please let your families know about this reunion. We want everyone to come and have a great time. We need to know approximately how many people will be attending by August 15, 2006 so we can better plan for this occasion.
Some activities for the children are being planned. There should be time for getting acquainted and talking about family history.
We would like to have an auction so funds could be obtained to cover the expenses involved and hopefully extend to next year. Think of what you could bring for an auction and of course your wallets to purchase items others have brought. A few ideas for the auction - Any crafts, quilting, crocheting, painting, woodwork items, hobbies you may want to donate or anything you dont need anymore that maybe someone else can use. Or better yet, use your imaginations.
We would really appreciate some ideas and help from anyone wanting to volunteer so this will be a big success.

P.S. We are thrilled to see our book "A HERITAGE OF FAITH AND COURAGE - WILLIAM SR. AND VIOLET S. BURGESS AND THEIR FAMILY" progressing toward publishing. It is very comprehensive, including interesting and inspiring stories, pictures of many descendants down several generations, including, data - plus the known ancestors, with their research and sources. We are still hopeful it can be published by the Reunion - but because it is so extensive, there is still much work to be done, and we dont know yet when it will be published. You will be able to see the paper copy and what it comprises at the Reunion. Well let you know more when it will be available. We know every family will want this book.
